SGA Arielle Paso has been with us since she was born in 1985. She has numerous Championships and Reserve Championships in many different divisions. She has been shown in halter, native costume, dressage, country english pleasure, show hack, and of course, hunter pleasure. She has garnered wins in each division, showing her versatility and athleticism which she has passed on to her foals.
In 1995, her junior owner/trainer took her all the way to the semi-final round of the Hunter Pleasure JOTR 14-17 division at the IAHA Youth Arabian Nationals, beating seventy others to wind up in the Top 20! They did this without the help of a trainer. They also finished in the Top 14 in Showmanship at Halter 14-17!
Arielle has since been "retired" to live her days as one of the top broodmares at Sugar Grove Arabians. She was injured in 1998 and we did not know if she would ever make it to the ring again. But, in July 1999, after a month and a half of slow conditioning, we took her to a show at the Hillsboro Fairgrounds. It was just a fun show, but there was stiff competition in all the Arabian divisions. Arielle showed her stuff and ended up placing first out of around thirteen in the Arabian Hunter Pleasure Open class. She also took home a third in Native Costume. Still, Ari has been shown most of her life and she deserves a rest. Plus, she is a great mother, so our plan is to leave her home and let her son, SGA Austintashus take her place in the show arena. Austin is really following in his mother's footsteps. He has already garnered numerous Championships and wins in Western Pleasure Open, Western Pleasure AAOTR, and Hunter Pleasure. He is also beginning to really like Trail. This year, we plan on starting him in Sidesaddle.
Arielle will have her long awaited "retirement", except for the occasional trail ride or parade, while Austin takes over where she left off in her show career.
